Starship Ladybug

A top down game created for Game Off 2021. Has multiple endings!

Premise:

You are Captain Ladybug, on a quest to save your loved ones and your planet from the Army of Kard, the evil galatic swarm.

When the planet you're on is invaded, you escape alone on a spaceship shortly before the planet is destroyed. But there is one problem. You are a bug, and you are too small to reach all the controls. And the strange radiation on the ship is causing some kind of mutation.

Survive 9 hyperspace jumps to get back to your home planet to warn them about the invasion before it's too late!

Controls:

• WASD to move.
• Right click to dash.
• Left click to attack.
• R to restart.
• Escape to menu.
• M to toggle music.
• N to change music volume.

"Bug"

You are a ladybug. And you can glitch the world and wallhack everything.

Tips:

• All levels are unlocked in the jam version.
• Dash into the warp core for bonus score.
• The white circle at the start of the left click attack can press buttons at range.

Known issues:

• No fullscreen.
• Scores do not save if you refresh the tab.

After a troubled development that included not having our team until less than 2 weeks ago, and not having a solid gameplay until 4 days ago, our game finally came together at the end of the jam. The final product is absolutely nothing like the original idea. But it turned into something cool and we're happy with what we made.

There were several ideas we couldn't implement due to the time constraint, like more levels and endless mode. These might be added later. By all other accounts, the game is finished.
